Responding to the latest twin attacks in Lahore near Minhaj-ul-Quran University, Dr Raheeq Abbasi, Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International said “There is widespread condemnation of such terror attacks in Pakistan which is completely against the basics of Islamic faith.”
He added “Previously terrorist groups have sent death threats to the leaders of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and its founder Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri who issued one of the most comprehensive condemnations of terrorism in a 600-page Fatwa on Terrorism declaring terrorists as disbelievers. Since then they have been threatening to attack Minhaj-ul-Quran International.”
“The latest bomb attack is seen as a clear signal of terror against Minhaj-ul-Quran, but this will have no effect on our strong stance against terrorism and extremism.”
Shahid Mursaleen, spokesman of Minhaj-ul-Quran UK said “The Taliban are targeting civilians during the month of Ramadan which is the most sacred month for Muslims and it shows their complete disregard of their Islamic faith.”
He added “Minhaj-ul-Quran International will continue to promote its message against terrorism and such threats will not stop our conviction.
